Credentialed members of the media may contact a member of the marketing staff for more information concerning photography of public events or museum galleries.We are members (which is a great deal if you join after you’ve paid for one admission, cuz they apply it to the membership fee) so we feel very comfortable in this medium sized diverse museum.
Commercial photography is prohibited unless prior arrangements (including compensation) have been made with the museum. Photography of any kind may not be used for publication without written permission from the museum and/or artists. Please ask competitors or their families for permission to take photos outside the arena. During the Hoop Dance Contest, Indian Fair or other performance venues, photography for personal use only is permitted during the performances unless announced otherwise. The Heard Museum does not assume liability for violation of copyright law by a photographer (Title 17, United States Code). The Heard Museum approves and accommodates the use of individual carried medical equipment, such as oxygen tanks, and all recognized baby carriers with babies that are strapped to either the front or back of an adult.

Free lockers are available to store any items during your visit. Water bottles, open beverage containers, and food are not permitted in the museum. We welcome guests and their service animals, as authorized by applicable law.Īll backpacks and any bag over 13″ x 17″ are not permitted in the museum. E-cigarettes may be used in designated outdoor smoking areas only and are not permitted inside the museum.
Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas and is not allowed within 20 feet of the front entrance. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times during their visit. Weapons (handguns, pepper spray, knives, etc.) are not permitted on the premises. Complimentary wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis at admissions and must be returned before exiting the building. Non-flash photography is permitted for personal use in the galleries unless otherwise indicated. Backpacks, and oversize bags, umbrellas, tripods, selfie sticks, and other similar items must be checked at admissions. No outside food or drink is allowed at the museum.
